YEA program modules include: entrepreneurial training, financial literacy, technology, economic language, practical experience, and business and life skills.

Entrepreneurship is one of the most important engines that drive our country’s economy. Through entrepreneurship, new ideas are turned into new business products, new ways are discovered to provide services to everybody and entire new industries are created.

We are looking for youth interested in being an entrepreneur and want to learn more about it. There are a few characteristics of entrepreneurs.

Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?

  • Entrepreneurs do what they love. They have passion. When people feel committed to what they are doing and when they care deeply about it, they stand the best chance of being successful at it.

  • Entrepreneurs are self-confident. Having confidence in what you do and who you are is essential to success. Entrepreneurs face lots of challenges, but they have self-confidence and know they can get through it.

  • Entrepreneurs are self-reliant. They do not wait for others to tell them what to do. They are self-starters and feel confident making decisions.

  • Entrepreneurs have great qualities. The accomplish goals, entrepreneurs must have drive, persistence, the ability to complete tasks, be willing to work hard, are opportunity-focused and are forward-looking.

  • Entrepreneurs are willing to take risks. While most people avoid risk, entrepreneurs understand that risk is a natural part of trying to achieve goals.

  • Entrepreneurs thrive on competition. Entrepreneurs may actively complete with others, but they are more likely to compete with themselves. They are constantly trying to improve their performance regardless of what others may be doing.

  • Entrepreneurs are creative. Many entrepreneurs don’t realize they are creative. This does not mean they paint pictures or write poetry. It means they find innovative ways to solve problems.

  • Entrepreneurs are willing to learn and are information seekers. They may know a great deal already, yet they recognize that no one knows everything, and they can learn valuable information from others. Entrepreneurs that are not open to learning often compromise the degree of success they will be able to achieve.
