George N. Wyche, Jr., Esq.

Executive Vice President ConcordisRyland

 

George N. Wyche, Jr., is Secretary and General Counsel of Concordis Real Estate, the nation’s first and largest national minority and women owned commercial real estate services firm, and is Executive Vice President of ConcordisRyland, where he is chiefly responsible for the business development and strategic planning

initiatives of the firm. He is principally charged with developing strategies for company growth and the expansion of the firm’s burgeoning corporate services and

consulting practice divisions.

 

Previous to joining Concordis Ryland, Mr. Wyche was engaged in the private practice of law for 14 years, primarily specializing in real estate, real estate finance and entity counseling and formation.

 

From 1992-2000, Mr. Wyche served as Managing Partner of Drayden & Wyche, LLP. During this tenure, Mr. Wyche served as lead outside counsel to the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department, and prime commercial real estate counsel to the Resolution Trust Corporation. Mr. Wyche also managed the Fee Attorney title operation of the law firm in association with American and Commerce Land Title Companies. Past clients of Mr. Wyche include, Time Warner, Fannie Mae American Communities Fund, SBC Communications, TME Enterprises-Taco Bell, New Choice Builders, Renaissance Cooperative CDC, JV, Trinity East Village CDC, Northeast Houston CDC, Spanish Village Community CDC, TSU/Third Ward CDC and the Houston Minority Business Council.

 

Mr. Wyche also served as lead real estate counsel to the Houston Astros Baseball Club in land acquisition and site control matters related to the development of their $290 Million downtown

retractable roof baseball stadium. On behalf of his clients, Mr. Wyche also served as a lobbyist for their commercial interests before government and quasigovernmental bodies of local, regional, state and federal scope. Previous to the formation of his law firm, Mr. Wyche served as an Assistant Harris County Attorney in its Eminent Domain and Ad Valorem Tax Divisions.

 

Mr. Wyche has served in leadership capacities in professional and community organizations on all levels for several years, serving on numerous boards and commissions. Mr. Wyche is the Immediate-Past President, Commercial Industrial Society of Realtists, and has served two (2) terms as General Counsel to the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) (2003-2005), and (1995-1997). Pursuant to his guidance and counsel during his initial term, NAREB intervened in the merger of Chemical and Chase Manhattan banks, resulting in the negotiation of an agreement to jointly develop a nationwide $100 Million Affordable Mortgage Program. Mr. Wyche was also a Co-Founder of NAREB’s Young Realtist Division. Mr. Wyche has also served three (3) terms as General Counsel to the Texas Association of Realtist, Inc., and as General Counsel to the National Society of Real Estate Appraisers.

 

In 1998, he received the Volunteer of the Year Award for the Northeast YMCA where he has served as a member of the Board of Directors and Past Chairman since 1989. Mr. Wyche has previously served as Vice-Chair of the National Bar Association Real Estate, Trust & Probate Law Section., and Chair of its Young Lawyers Division, 1991-1993. Mr. Wyche has also previously served on the Executive Committee, and as a Regional Director of the Howard University Alumni Association. He remains active and involved with the Howard University Houston

Metropolitan Area Alumni Chapter, having served as its President 1999-2006.

 

A graduate of Howard University, Mr. Wyche received a B.B.A. in Finance. Mr. Wyche received his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
