Brian Tippens

Director, Global Supplier Diversity & Development Hewlett-Packard Company

Brian Tippens leads HP’s Global Supplier Diversity & Development Programs.   In this role, Brian manages and sets the strategic direction for a global program which works to ensure that minority-owned and other under-represented businesses have an opportunity to become HP suppliers or service providers.  He also oversees strategic supplier development, social & environmental responsibility, and green procurement across HP’s $20B + global indirect and professional services supply chain.

Brian has over 20 years of IT industry experience, having served in technology licensing, strategic procurement, and regulatory compliance roles positions at HP, Intel Corporation and SureWest Communications Company.

A long-time educator, Brian serves as an adjunct professor of Legal Studies at Kaplan University, and is a former University of San Francisco faculty member.  He currently serves as a board member or advisor to the Canadian Aboriginal Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC); Texas Business Alliance (TBA); and the International Program Committee of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of San Francisco, and a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
